The KAPPY ambulance was created right from the outset with the Companion Animal patient in mind.

Purchased as an empty new vehicle, it was converted and fitted according to designs and requirements provided by a veterinary surgeon with significant experience and expertise in both first opinion and referral Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.

Equipment and facilities available include:

Oxygen therapy

Infusion pump for drips

Pain relief

Warming & cooling measures

Wound management

Monitoring of vital parameters

Monitoring of blood glucose

Seizure therapy

Stretcher with restraints

Dividable walk-in dog kennel

In addition an array of Animal Handling and Husbandry equipment is available including:

Bedding and water/food bowls Grasper and cat grabber Gauntlets Muzzles Cat carrier with cover

The ambulance is air conditioned throughout and there is both hot and cold water available.

Staffing

Unlike traditional veterinary ambulances, the KAPPY ambulance is staffed full time by a veterinary surgeon with significant experience in both first opinion and referral Emergency and Critical Care

Additional staffing is provided on an individual case basis.
